Connoisseur's Guide 95 points (Mar 2007) Both of the DuMol entries make no bones about their ripeness, but this one, despite being the higher in stated alcohol, is by far the more mannerly, and it is the wine’s concentrated yet tightly controlled styling that makes it the highest rated Syrah amongst a pretty good set of wines. Its keenly focused blackberry aromas are joined by distinct varietal spice notes along with suggestions of pepper and game. It is wonderfully well-balanced and supple, convincingly deep and layered flavors that go on and on even in the face of youthful tannin.  Robert Parker 93 points (Dec 2005) The 2004 Pinot Noir Russian River is a blend of six different cool climate vineyards. Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by scents of plums, allspice, forest floor, and sassafras. With good acidity, medium to full body, and considerable ripeness, structure, and definition, it should drink well for 5-6 years. Kudos to DuMol, one of the brilliant shining stars of the North Coast Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah sweepstakes.
